All pharmacists are fully qualified and registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and via the Scheme you will be able to see them without an appointment and sometimes outside surgery opening hours. They will help you decide whether or not you need to see your GP and if you do, then you can go on to make an appointment at the Humberstone Medical Centre. The pharmacist will prescribe medication if necessary and if you are exempt from prescription charges, there will be nothing to pay for that medication.
If you are suffering from one of the minor ailments listed above, visit a Pharmacy First participating chemist, taking with you a form of ID to prove you are registered with HMC, for example your NHS card or a letter from the medical centre.
The on-site pharmacy at HMC is part of the Pharmacy First Scheme as are many other pharmacists in Leicester. For a full list of participants telephone Leicester City PCT Patient and Liaison Service on 0116 2957011 or e-mail PALS@leicestercitypct.nhs.uk.
