Intra-Uterine Device (IUD) Service

The intra-uterine device (IUD) or intra-uterine system (IUS) is a contraceptive which can be left in place in the womb for a period of 5 years.

If this is your choice of contraception after being offered a range of options via our Family Planning advisory service, the fitting of the device will be arranged at a time suitable for your clinical needs and as advised by your GP or nurse.
