Flu Vaccinations 2010/11
Flu vaccinations now available
The following Patients are eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination:
1. Patients over the age of 65.
2. Patients with the following conditions:
- Chronic Respiratory Disease or Asthma (which requires the regular use of inhaled or systemic steroids).
- Chronic Heart Disease (for example, congenital heart disease, angina, heart failure).
- Chronic Kidney Disease (for example chronic kidney disease, nephrotic syndrome or kidney transplantation).
- Chronic Liver Disease (for example cirrhosis, biliary artesia or chronic hepatitis).
- Chronic Neurological Disease (for example stroke or TIA).
- Diabetes (type 1, type 2 or diet controlled).
- Immunosuppression (for example patients undergoing chemotherapy leading to immunosuppression, patients with HIV infection or asplenia or splenic dysfunction).
3. Patients working in Residential or Care Homes.
4. Patients who work closely with poultry.
