Originally from Leicester, Dr Sperry grew up in West Africa and returned to her home city to study medicine, qualifying in 1981. After GP training, she joined the Humberstone Medical Centre in 1984 as partner.

As Clinical Assistant to Oakham House in Leicester, Dr Sperry has a special interest in adolescent mental health. She also leads HMC lead in palliative medicine, having forged close links with the Leicestershire Hospice organisation LOROS. Dr Sperry also works as a Clinical Tutor for HMC’s medical students.
