Born in Burma, Dr Than studied at The University of Yangon near Singapore, qualifying in medicine in 2000. Following a variety of hospital appointments in Staffordshire and Coventry, he qualified as a General Practitioner in 2007 when he also obtained his qualification as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK).

Dr Than has a special interest in general medicine and diabetes, which includes experience in insulin management, and he runs HMC’s Diabetes Clinic. His other interests include rheumatology and he is experienced in joint injections. He plans to become a GP Trainer in 2010.
