Born in Leicester, Dr Kotecha studied at Leicester University Medical School and qualified in medicine in 2002. Following a variety of hospital appointments and a spell in Australia working in Accident and Emergency, she joined the Humberstone medical Centre in 2007.

Also working at Loughborough University Health Centre, Dr Kotecha has specific experience in Student Health and Sexual Health. She is a Clinical Tutor for medical students at the Humberstone Medical centre and teaches communication skills at the University of Leicester Medical School.

Dr Kotecha is currently taking a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education.
